Why I run....

Monday 22nd Jun
I don’t love running. In fact, I’m not even sure I like it.
But for the last two and a half years, I have run every week, twice a week. Why? Because in all that time, I have never done a single run alone.
I don’t run for health, fitness, or competition. I run for the people, the community, and the sense of belonging. I run to catch up with friends, to talk through bad days, to meet new people, to learn new things, to challenge myself, to calm my mind, to prove I can do hard things, to encourage and support others, to raise funds for charity, to make new memories, to experience new places, to get outside, and to simply take a breath.
I am so grateful to be taking part in Trasna because it encompasses all of my reasons ‘why’.
People say, “It fills my cup.” Running overflows mine.
But no, I don’t love running.
